We decided to take a break after 7 consecutive days of driving from northern California in Nashville, Tennessee. And boy are we glad we did! We had several fun-filled days and realized Nashville is a really hopping town. We ate delicious BBQ, took a lovely hike in the springtime woods and hills of TN, and listened to some live country western music in downtown Nashville on Broadway street, with some tasty local brews. A walking tour of the city with a very entertaining guide gave us a bit of the history of this “small town” turned big city finished off our Nashville experience.
Topping it off was an evening at the Grand Ole Opry which was fantastic! The crowd was into it, listened to some classic, as well as up and coming country. Loved every minute of it and were surprised by a visit from country great Randy Travis. While he did not sing, a number of tunes were dedicated to him! A big musical family!
Really enjoyed Nashville and would love a return visit. Off to DC tomorrow!
